Sensual Massage & Oils

Sensual massage can be a very erotic and satisfying activity if done right. The type of oil or lotion that you use, if any, will have little effect if you don't get all the other ingredients right.

DO'S and DON'TS OF SENSUAL MASSAGE

DO set the mood first with some relaxing sensual music, soft lighting, and maybe some scented candles to build an erotic aroma in the room

DON'T allow anything to disturb your massage so turn the mobile phone OFF!

DO make sure the room is warm enough for your partner as they will be naked and also that they will be comfortable on your make shift massage table

DON'T use the stone floor in the kitchen as your makeshift massage table! Create a comfortable surface and use towels where necessary for a head rest or knee support

DO have a glass of water to hand so there is no interruption if either of you feel dry or thirsty

DON'T jump in too hard. You are not giving a sports injury massage, your giving your partner a soft and sensual massage.

DO use soft gentle strokes with your fingertips all over the body to start with. Working on sensitive areas and erroneous zones is good, but don't forget the rest of the body. Develop into longer strokes and then to shorter but deeper strokes. Communicate with your partner to find out if your strokes are too hard or too soft.

DON'T aim straight for the genitals, but build up the suspense slowly, maybe occasionally lightly brush the genitals as you move from one part of the body to another

DO build up a sensual rhythm that pleases both of you and allow the erotic energy to build until it seems like a natural time to start shifting the focus to more explicitly sexual activities.

DO use imagination and experimentation but above all, communicate with your partner to ensure that you are both enjoying the experience

Now that you have some idea what you should be doing, we can give you some idea what to do it with. Below we have given an overview of the different types of massage oils, lotions and balms that we offer.

Massage oils.
The primary aim of using massage oil is to promote the smooth and frictionless movement over the body. Some of the oils available, like the Shunga massage oil we stock, are completely non-greasy, edible, and are fragranced to increase the mood and sensuality of the massage. Shunga massage oil is made from an exclusive blend of cold pressed oils including a base of almond oil -acknowledged by experts as the very best.

Massage creams and lotions
Massage lotions or creams do pretty much the same job as the oils but are used as an alternative for people to massage oil where the preference is for a non-oily product.

Aphrodisiac Oils
Traditionally known as 'warming oils', aphrodisiac oils can be used for sensual massage but with the added effect of when you blow onto the skin after massaging in the oil, it creates a gentle warming effect which is also believed to stimulate the circulation and sensitivity of the area.

Massage Balm
The Shunga Sensations massage balm that we stock has a special desensitising effect to temporarily control the level of sensation to highly erogenous zones. This effect is due to a small amount of Benzocaine being present in the balm. This is the same anaesthetic used in dentistry to num gums. By gently massaging the balm into the penis or swirl around nipples, it has a two-step effect on your partner's body. Firstly, it will reduce sensitivity for a few minutes. That's great to delay ejaculation and enable sex to continue for longer, but also as the desensitising effect wears off, you will experience greater blood flow and increased sensitivity. This effect can be demonstrated if you simply rub a small amount on to your gum, under your lip. Ensure it is on the outside of the gum and not in contact with your tongue. The effect will be almost immediate.
